Joe Scarborough, one of the talking heads on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, is typical of the news readers and pundits on the air across America, with a few exceptions. Their total knowledge of Islam, which is repeated daily to viewers, amounts to:
“Islam is a peaceful religion and Muhammad was a peaceful man. Anyone out there who disagrees with that is a bigot and a xenophobe.” These television personalities support the Imam Feisal Rauf who is building a mosque near Ground Zero and they deride Americans who oppose it with name calling. Those two sentences above are the extent of the media’s expertise on Islam. And neither the religion nor Muhammad qualify to be on the peaceful chart. The media have never studied the Quran, the Hadiths, the words and deeds of Muhammad, or the history of Islam. But Scarborough said he heard Imam Rauf, the one responsible for the mosque project which will rise up two blocks from Ground Zero, talk about his good intentions for the community. And Joe said he thought the Imam was sincere. No, Joe. He wasn’t.
Let’s start here:
First, the reason Islam has so many followers is because Muhammad, and those leaders who came after him, executed a continuing jihad against most of the known world, capturing territory, killing, torturing, raping and looting. Oh, and also forcefully converting new members. Over the centuries, those Jews and Christians who refused conversion were killed or became Dhimmis, demoted to a level somewhere above the slave class. They essentially had no rights. They had to dress in a certain way for ID purposes and pay the jizya, a tax. A good example of life under Islamic law is when a Dhimmi met a Muslim on the street, he had to step off to the side and let the Muslim have the right-of-way. A Muslim could kill a Dhimmi and not be punished.
There is only one Quran and it is read by all Muslims. Most Muslims, like most members of any religion or organization, have a life to live and are minimal participants. The success of any religion depends on its core membership. In Islam, the Quran is a license to kill those who reject the religion. The Ayatollah Khomeini said Muslims must “prepare themselves for the conquest of [other] countries so that the writ of Islam is OBEYED in every country in the world.”
To understand why Islam is associated with violence, one only has to look at the life of Muhammad and the huge influence he has on Muslim men. The Hadiths, a record of the words and deeds of the prophet, are second only to the Quran in importance to the faithful. For example, while in exile in Medina (Yathrib), Saudi Arabia, the prophet was ridiculed by the Jews for trying to convert them to Islam. Muhammad handled these criticisms by having his detractors assassinated. In the case of Abu Afak, a 120 year-old Jewish man who urged people to reject the false prophet, Muhammad had Salem Ibn Umayr run a sword through the elderly man while he slept.
After his murder, a Jewish poetess named Asma Marwan spoke out against Islam and Muhammad, asking who would stop him? Muhammad asked the same question about Marwan. Hearing this, another hit man, Umayr al-Katmi, went to the woman’s home, removed the baby she was nursing and killed her by the sword. Muhammad told the killer: “You have helped God and his apostle, O Umayr.” This became the accepted way of silencing the critics of Islam and the prophet.
Muhammad’s influence is evident today as those who speak negatively of Muhammad or the Quran put their lives at risk. Remember the fatwa pronounced by the Ayatollah Khomeini on Salman Rushdie in 1989? He sentenced the writer to death for blasphemy and insulting Islam in his book, The Satanic Verses.
Then there was Theo van Gogh, a filmmaker who was killed by Mohammed Bouyeri, a Muslim, on an Amsterdam street in 2004 for making a film about women abused by Islam. He stated that, “If I ever get free, I would do it again.” [The reason? Van Gogh had insulted Islam.
The list of atrocities by Muslims against Muslims and non-Muslims for merely speaking out or writing about Muslim violence is long and spans centuries. There is no tolerance for free speech under sharia, Islamic law. No first amendment. The goal of Muslims is to implement Sharia worldwide. They can do it by force or Taqiyya,( deception), seemingly making accords with other religions, all the while working toward implementing sharia in parts, then expanding as their population grows. For example, sharing the mosque near Ground Zero with other religions so that we can learn to accept our “differences.”
In addition to assassinations, Muhammad launched a jihad against Jewish villages to take care of the enemies of Islam. In April of 627, after the surrender of the Beni Quraidha near Medina, the prophet had all of the men and boys of fighting age (about 900) beheaded. His campaign wiped out most of the Jews in the area. The women and children were taken as slaves and their property divided among the Muslim army. Muhammad took Rayhina bint Zayd, a beautiful Jewish woman, to add to his collection. Her brother, husband and father had just been beheaded by the prophet’s army of Allah.
Muhammad set the standard for beheading those who refused his “religion.” Peaceful Muslims were emulating the prophet when they beheaded Daniel Pearl in Pakistan and Nick Berg and Paul Johnson in Iraq.
The prophet is also the inspiration for the Arab Muslim jihad and ethnic cleansing of black Africans in the Sudan. The methods are the same, though. They include: mass murder, rape, torture, looting, slavery and forced conversion to Islam.
The Quran is filled with exhortations from Allah to commit violent acts against non-Muslims. For example:
- Sura 8:12 “I shall instill terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers; Smite ye above their necks (behead them) and smite their fingertips off.”
- Sura 47:4 “Therefore, when you meet the Unbelievers (in fight), strike off their heads…”
The Quran is all about the hatred of Non-Muslims and the various ways Allah demands that they be killed. There are also suras that call for Muslims to refrain from friendship with the people of the book, Christians and Jews.
Aside from the blood and gore, this perfect example of the Muslim man found the time to consumate his marriage to Aisha, who was nine at the time. This is the legal age for girls to marry.
Muhammad also married the wife of his adopted son after observing her assets one day. Allah, through the angel Gabriel, told Muhammad that he concurred with his decision.
All of the above reveals Islam to be a system of governance and control that no sane person would want to be a part of, a society that kills the body and the soul. And Muhammad, the founder of this insanity, would today be on death row for his crimes against humanity. There is no love in Islam. Evil is a term that fits quite nicely.

How can you accuse the 9/11 attackers of hijacking Islam when Muhammad had his critics assassinated and attacked a number of tribes, seized their possessions,and beheaded 900 Jewish men and boys of one tribe.
