The title of CNN’s article on the horrific massacre at Oslo, Norway by Anders Breivik, a mentally deranged person, also blamed the violence on the far right’s opposition to immigration and multiculturalism. However, the article failed to mention that the elected leaders and citizens (no far right wing extremists) of a number of European Union nations have condemned multiculturalism as a failure and will no longer allow it to divide their nations. (CNN, 07/24/11) “The far right has enjoyed a renaissance over the past 30 years, driven by resentment of the growing powers of the European Union and by rejection of the ‘multiculturalism’ that has accompanied rapid integration from the developing world.
“Political parties opposing immigration have done well in elections in recent years–and beyond them, neo-fascist and ‘national socialist’ groups have become well-established across the continent, including in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Scandinavia, Hungary and the United Kingdom.”
NOTICE: CNN withdrew the article soon after publication. A visit to the site produced a “page not found” note but let you search for it in the hope that you would decide it wasn’t worth the effort. I did a search and posted it here (with the author’s name, Tim Lister) but that is no guarantee that it will still be there. This is the new address. You may want to copy the CNN article just in case.
For the facts which Tim left out, read on. Here are some of the elected leaders of EU nations who now reject multiculturalism:
(October 18, 2010) Chancellor Angela Merkel gave a thumbs down to multiculturalism: “This approach has failed, totally,” ‘ She said, adding that immigrants should integrate and adopt Germany’s culture and values.’ “We feel tied to Christian values. Those who don’t accept them don’t have a place here.”
(Feb.8,2011) British Prime Minister David Cameron criticized multiculturalism as a failure:
“Under the doctrine of state multiculturalism we have encouraged different cultures to live separate lives, apart from each other and apart from the mainstream. We’ve failed to provide a vision of society to which they feel they want to belong. We’ve even tolerated these segregated communities behaving in ways that run completely counter to our values.”
(Feb. 10, 2011) French President Sarkozy has joined other EU leaders who have condemned multiculturalism and vowed to change it. He said that “Clearly, yes, it is a failure…”
“Of course, we must respect differences, but we do not want…a society where communities coexist side by side. If you come to France, you accept to melt into a single community; which is the national community, and if you do not want to accept that, you cannot be welcome in France…”
“The French national community cannot accept a change in its lifestyle, equality between men and women…freedom for little girls to go to school.”
And in the Netherlands where member of parliament Geert Wilders was recently found not guilty of “inciting hatred” against Muslims, “the Dutch government says it will abandon the long-standing model of multiculturalism that has encouraged Muslim immigrants to create a parallel society within the Netherlands.” This will be implemented in a new integration bill with a 15-page action plan, which was presented to parliament on June 16. The statement says;
“‘The government shares the social dissatisfaction over the multicultural society model and plans to shift priority to the values of the Dutch people. In the new integration system, the values of the Dutch society play a central role. With this change, the government steps away from the model of a multicultural society.”
Citizens of European nations are turning against multiculturalism, along with the hatred and violence from the Muslim community. “According to a Maurice de Hond poll published by the center-right newspaper Trouw on June 19, 74 percent of Dutch voters say immigrants should conform to Dutch values. Moreover, 83 percent of those polled support a ban on burqas in public spaces.
The permissive Dutch culture has made it easier for Muslims to impose their culture and, eventually, rule over the citizens. “A documentary aired by the television program Netwerk in June 2009 reported that Dutch law was being systematically undermined by the growth of Sharia justice in the Netherlands.
It appears that the citizens of Europe have had enough threats, violence and terrorist attacks from Muslims who make it clear that they will take over Europe and the world.
But you won’t hear anything about these changes taking place on CNN. Like most corporations, the media is pushing for an open borders world, where no one has to learn a new language or change their culture to conform with the host country. The world would be composed of integrated regions of the world.
As George W. Bush said after an integration summit with the EU in Slovenia that “We seek a world based on international law…We are committed to support effective multilateralism, based on a stronger, more efficient U.N.” ( June 10, 2008)
Obama is continuing the integration process of North America, initiated by George Bush on March 23, 2005 at Waco, Texas. On February 5, 2011, President Obama and Prime Minister Harper of Canada announced a North American perimeter around the continent, a common outer border for Canada, Mexico and the United States. Everyone within that perimeter will eventually be a citizen of North America. Mexicans can speak Spanish. There will be no more American culture, or English language or history. And the Muslims, it appears, will make progress toward Sharia and Islamic “culture.” Honor killings, anyone? It’s already here.
You won’t find Wolf Blitzer or anyone at CNN criticizing that “peaceful” religion of Islam or the horrible crimes committed as part of the religion. But it’s all for a better world, don’t you know.
You can’t depend on articles from CNN without backing up the information with respected sources, especially on topics such as immigration, Islam and multiculturalism. If you find an article lacking in the truth, make a comment and provide solid sources. That is, if CNN will allow free speech on their site.
